Sudbury's Finest Greek Restaurant

The Apollo is a greek restaurant that was established in 1970 by George and Toula Sakellaris. George and Toula immigrated from small villages in Southern Greece in the 1960’s. As newly married couple in their early 20’s, they opened the Apollo Restaurant on the Kingsway.

In the beginning, the Apollo was open for breakfast, lunch, and late night food. A typical day began with Toula opening the restaurant at 6:00am, and George closing the restaurant at 2:00 am.

The Apollo introduced the City of Sudbury to Greek cuisine, something that was not well known in the 1970s, and has since become famous for their homemade Greek restaurant specialities.

In 1977, the Apollo underwent a major renovation to convert the restaurant, from a diner to a dining room. Ten years later, in 1987-1988, another renovation occured. This time expanding the kitchen and dining room, to accommodate our ever-growing loyal clientele. Today, the Apollo has served the Greater Sudbury area for 40+ years!

The Apollo is still owned and operated by Toula and her family and specializes in traditional authentic Greek foods and deserts, certified Black Angus Beef, and much more! Toula would like to thank her many loyal customers for the years of support and looks forward to serving you for many more years to come!

The olives are handpicked, cold-pressed and the oil is shipped to the Apollo, where we are proud to provide the highest quality olive oil to Sudburians at a fair price.
